I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Broadwater Elementary School. I am honored to have been selected to join the Helena School District, which is known for its dynamic educational experience. Over the past ten years, I have worked in a variety of school districts helping to shape my leadership style and prepare me for this amazing opportunity. I feel so fortunate to work in partnership with Mrs. Sweeney as I transition into the role of building leader.
Here is a little bit about me. I am a Montana native born into a family of educators! I was raised in the Bitterroot valley and graduated from Hamilton High School. After high school, I attend the University of Montana and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I spent the first eight years of my teaching career in Wyoming teaching fifth grade. During my time in Wyoming, I was fortunate to receive exceptional professional development and grow as an educator and leader. In 2013, I earned a National Board Certification as a middle childhood generalist. I then began working on my masters in Educational Leadership through the University of Wyoming. Over the course of graduate school, I continued to teach and had two babies! After graduating, we wanted to raise children close to family and move back to Montana. We moved to Bozeman and I got a job teaching third grade at Hawthorne Elementary! My son Bridger is four years old and my daughter Emerson is two years old. These two are the light of my life and help me be the best educator I can be every day. We are excited to be part of the Helena Community.
Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced and learned with me to your wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know you and your children.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
